Hey everyone! We recently switched out our ceiling lights and took out the air vent since we have a window in the bathroom now. I'm looking for advice on how to properly patch those holes. Also, do I need to disconnect any wires from the removed vent? Any tips would be appreciated!

I noticed you removed the bathroom exhaust fan. Just a heads up, a window alone doesn’t effectively draw air out of the room. You might want to reconsider that! But for patching those holes, I suggest you use some thick plywood or 2x4 for support before putting up the drywall patch. Secure everything with drywall screws, then use compound to fill gaps. You can sand it down and match the texture with some spray from the store. Don't forget to prime and paint when you’re done! A full ceiling repaint might be necessary to blend it all.

Good tip on using the plywood! Just make sure to reinforce it well – you don’t want it to sag later on. And yeah, definitely prime before painting!
