I just bought my first home, and it's missing some modern features, especially a bathroom vent fan. My concern is controlling the moisture in the bathroom. I'm inexperienced and a bit hesitant about going into the attic for installations. Are there reliable alternatives, like window-mounted fans or wall-mounted options that vent outside? I currently have a window that I keep open, but it seems ineffective. Thanks for your help!

There are wall-mounted fans that can exhaust outside, but if you're not comfortable with DIY, I’d suggest going straight for a ceiling-mounted fan. Using a good duct cover can help manage airflow. Those through-wall fans can be hit or miss because they might not seal properly, letting in cold air. If it's just attic space above, installing a ceiling fan shouldn't be too tricky or costly. Welcome to home ownership—it’s a never-ending project!

How much should an installation like that cost? It sounds a bit beyond my skill set for now!
