I'm redesigning my bathroom and I've got this drain pipe that I no longer need. I want to keep my concrete floors intact, so I'm looking for a way to cut the pipe flush with the floor and plug it without leaving any unsightly protrusions. How can I go about this while ensuring it's not a hassle for anyone in the future?

You'll want to carefully chip away some concrete around the pipe, then cut the pipe below the finished floor level. After that, glue on a PVC cap to seal it off. Finally, fill in the hole with concrete to make it flush. For future reference, it’d be nice to mark where the pipe is in case someone else wants to use it later.

One option is to cut the pipe as low as possible. I’d recommend using a Dremel to make it even lower than the finished floor level. Then, you can make a flat cap out of aluminum (or whatever material you have) and seal it with caulk to ensure it looks good.
