I'm trying to figure out how to remove a drop ceiling in my basement, but I can't seem to get it done. Any tips or methods that could help?

If you find that the tiles just won’t budge, you might also consider checking for any clips or locks on the edges. Sometimes the installation can be more complex than it looks!
It sounds like you might not have a traditional drop ceiling but rather a flush mount ceiling grid like CeilingMAX. If that's the case, certain pieces of the grid snap in and out, which might make it easier to remove the tiles. This type is often favored in basements since it helps you keep the height while still giving access to the utilities above.
To remove drop ceiling panels, you’ll want to push them up first, then pull them down and out. The frames might be held in place with screws, so check for those. Just a heads up, depending on how old your ceiling is, watch out for any potential asbestos issues!
And let’s hope there aren’t any creepy critters up there!

I can't seem to push them up. They feel locked in place. Do you think there could be a master tile that's not locked?
