What’s the best way to remove silicone caulk from a metal ‘U’ channel?

I have a glass shower with metal clamps that hold the panels in place. These clamps are designed to be secured to the wall using silicone for a watertight seal. After taking the shower panels down to address a tile problem, I now need to reinstall the clamps, but they are loaded with dried silicone. I've tried scraping it off with my fingers, a paint scraper, and pliers for hours, and I've only managed to clear about 8 inches of it. There's still about 110 inches left to tackle. Is there an easy trick or tool that can help me clean this up? I just need enough space for a new silicone bead, perfection isn't necessary!

I swear by my oscillating multi-tool! It seems like the perfect fit for this situation. With the right blade, you can really get in there and remove the silicone without too much hassle. It's become one of my go-to tools for tough jobs like this.

A wood chisel or even a flat-head screwdriver can help too. Just be careful not to damage the metal channel while you're at it!

Try using a Stanley knife to slice away as much of the silicone as you can, and then follow it up with a silicone solvent. It helps soften the remaining caulk, making it easier to clear out the channel.

Yeah, I did something similar with a silicone solvent, and it worked wonders! Just make sure to let it sit for a bit to do its magic.
