What’s the best way to repair and protect my wooden skirting?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for advice on how to fix some damage to the wooden skirting in my apartment, which has been scratched up by my office chair. I'm considering using wood filler followed by paint. Does anyone have tips on how to match the paint color perfectly? Here are some pictures of the damage: https://imgur.com/a/TYvt3Gi. Thanks in advance!

Using wood filler and paint is definitely the way to go! Just a heads-up, you might have a tough time getting an exact match with the paint. One option to consider for future protection is stick-on plastic protectors for the skirting; you can cut them to size. But be careful, as removing them later could pull off some of the paint too!

I actually heard that using a door snake can work really well as a protective measure! It seems better than those stick-on options, especially considering the risk of paint damage.
