What’s the Best Way to Replace My Noisy Bathroom Exhaust Fan?

Hey everyone! I have a bathroom exhaust fan that connects to a timer switch and works fine, but it's super loud. I'm considering replacing the motor, but I'm not sure which one to order. Alternatively, I'm open to replacing the whole unit, but just the thought of swapping out the housing and connecting it to the ductwork feels like a hassle. The housing measures 8" x 7", and the sticker shows: HVI Home Ventilating Institute C-64322, 50 CFM, AT .10 WG, 4.0 SONES. Any tips on how to go about this?

First things first, make sure to unplug the power to the fan. Once that’s done, the fan, motor, and the big silver plate should come off pretty easily. Check the edges for markings like 'pull' or 'push' to release it. After you remove the plate with just two nuts, the motor and fan should come off without a hitch!

Thanks! That definitely sounds easy enough. Once I pull the unit out, should I look for a model number on the old motor and find a similar replacement, or is it better to just buy a whole new unit?
