I recently rescued a neglected jade plant that's sprouting new shoots all over the place! I've already trimmed a few of the smaller shoots, and some fell off during transport. The branches are rooted everywhere, so I've shared some cuttings with friends. Now, I need to repot the main plant because the soil looks worn out and isn't retaining water well. I plan on using cactus soil mixed with Seramis and perlite for better drainage. My biggest concern is pruning—should I cut everything back all at once or take it slow to avoid shocking the plant? I'm still pretty new to gardening and want to make sure I do this right.

You can definitely repot your jade plant! Just make sure to do it in the Spring or Summer when it's actively growing. Use a good succulent potting mix and try to get a container that’s about double the size of the one it's in now to give it room to grow. As for pruning, it's wise to wait until the plant adjusts to the new pot before making any significant cuts, as that can be stressful for it. Good luck with your jade!

That makes total sense! I think waiting before pruning is a good idea. I was actually considering reusing the current pot because it’s not completely full and has some space. I’ll definitely update with new pics once I get it repotted!
