What’s the Best Way to Repot My New Succulents?

Hey everyone! I just bought a few succulents from a big box store and I've heard that repotting them is a good idea. I'm a bit confused about the best way to do it. Should I totally remove all the original soil and just put the bare roots into a new pot with some quality succulent soil? Or is it okay to just repot them in a slightly larger pot, keeping some of the old soil? What do you all recommend?

Yeah, I’d say ditch all the old soil! But you don’t have to always go for a bigger pot. Sometimes I just put mine back into the original pot if it’s still in good shape. And don’t worry about disturbing the roots too much, they can handle it!

Ah ok thanks for that! I was worried about messing with the roots, so I just put them in a bigger pot with new soil. I’ll try removing the old soil now.

I'd recommend removing as much of the original soil as you can. Once that's done, plant your succulents in a good quality, gritty cactus mix. They really thrive in that!

Will do, thanks for the tip!
