Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a pickle. I've got a large inventory of high-end appliances that have never been used or installed. They're just sitting in a warehouse, and returning them to the supplier won't give me a decent return on investment. So, I'm looking for advice on how to sell these items effectively. As a homeowner, what options do I have for getting rid of these luxury appliances? Here's a list of what I have:
- WOLF 48" DUAL FUEL RANGE NG SS 6 BURNER & CHARBROILER
- BEST 48" CHIMNEY HOOD SS UP TO 9' CEILINGS
- SUB-ZERO PRO 48" BIREFRIGERATOR SS SOLID DOOR
- and many more.
I'm based in Austin, Texas, and the inventory is stored with a reputable supplier. Any tips on the best resale channels or strategies would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to consider listing them on marketplaces like Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or even local appliance resale groups. Many people are on the lookout for high-end appliances at a good deal, and since yours are unused, you could attract a lot of buyers. Just be ready to negotiate, as most buyers often expect a discount. Also, try reaching out to local contractors or builders who might be interested in buying them for projects.
As for the homeowner angle, it doesn’t really affect how you sell them, but I’d guess maybe you were hoping for other homeowners to resonate with you. Whatever the case, you might also check with estate sale companies; they sometimes handle high-end sales and might help you sell faster.
Honestly, you shouldn’t expect to get back more than 50% of what you originally paid, especially in the resale market. It might sting, but it's better than having them collect dust forever. If you can, maybe also think about consignment shops that specialize in upscale home goods—they might take some of the burden off your shoulders.
