Now, I'm trying to figure out the best method to remove the tape without chipping the paint or damaging the finish. I found some conflicting advice online; some suggest using warm soapy water, but the epoxy kit instructions warn against using water for three days after application. Without seeing your photo, I'd suggest a careful approach. If you plan to sand the area anyway, you can lightly score around the tape edges with a utility knife to help it peel off cleanly. Just be gentle! After removing the outer tape, sand the edges subtly to keep everything smooth.
