I've got about a 1-inch hole where I run a hose, and since I live in the northeast, I want to be able to close off the valve during winter and store the hose inside. What's the best way to insulate or seal this hole while still allowing for easy removal of the hose in the future?

You should definitely consider installing a hose bibb there—it’s the proper way to do it! Especially since you're dealing with a frost-proof one under your porch. Just a quick note, if you're running a small hose, making it accessible might be a bit of a challenge. But a silicone escutcheon could work well for that situation!
A cork from a craft store is a solid option for winter use! For summer, just try putting something around the hose, maybe a bit of fiberglass insulation. It should help keep things insulated!
Love that idea! I’ll definitely grab a cork for the winter.
The best bet might be to add a frost-proof hose bib that connects on both sides. Otherwise, a silicone escutcheon or a rubber plug can keep it insulated in winter. Just be sure to stuff the hole with insulation when the temps drop!
Thanks, that makes sense! I think I’ll go for the silicone escutcheon—seems like a neat fix.

Thanks for that suggestion! I appreciate the detail. I think the silicone escutcheon sounds like a good option.
