What’s the Best Way to Seal an Untreated Teak Garden Bench?

Asked By NatureLover123 On

I recently ordered a teak garden bench online and found out that it hasn't been treated or finished. Now, I need to take care of this myself. I'm looking for recommendations on the best product to use that won't change the color or add any shine, just something to seal it since it'll be outside all year round. Thanks for your help!

Teak naturally resists moisture due to its oils. If you're looking for something that dries clear, I recommend using a silicon-based sealant like Roxil. It's suitable for outdoor use and can be brushed or sprayed on easily, giving you that low-maintenance seal!

I've had good experiences with Golden Care teak protector. While I leave my bench untreated, I use it on my teak table, and both have held up well outside for over 5 years! Just a thought if you want something that really protects without changing the look.

Teak oil is a popular choice and it's great for keeping maintenance low. It'll soak into the wood nicely without adding a glossy finish, so it might be what you're looking for!
