Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on how to properly mount a shelf to the side of my kitchen cabinetry, which is made of 32mm thick melamine. The shelf came with standard wall plugs and screws, but I don't think those will work for this type of surface. I was thinking about using a bolt with an anchor on the inside, as I do have access to the other side of the cabinetry. When I asked for help at Bunnings, they suggested stud solvers which didn't seem quite right. Can anyone recommend a better fastener for this, or am I totally missing the mark? I want it to look clean since it's next to the fridge and visible. Thanks!

You might want to consider using toggler snap toggles for your shelf. They’re easy to install and can hold quite a bit of weight. I've used them for heavier items, like mounting big TVs, and they held up perfectly. Just make sure the screws you get are suitable for melamine. Avoid those cheap wall plugs they usually sell—they won't cut it for a solid mount.
Honestly, I think you shouldn't overcomplicate it. If you can access the back of the cabinet, just go for M6 or M7 button-head flange bolts. They should do the trick without too much fuss.
