I'm working on a sideboard project and I need to cut one quarter of the length off a wooden rod to make it align perfectly with a board. What's the easiest way to go about this? Should I just fix it down and use a router, or is there a simpler method? I don't currently have a router, but I'm open to getting one if necessary.

If the rod isn't too thick, a hand saw should do the trick! Cutting a quarter of the length off isn't complicated, just make sure to measure carefully and take your time. You can totally pull this off without fancy tools.
You'd be surprised how simple it can be, really!
Thanks for that! I was overthinking it. Just a simple cut sounds easier.
