What’s the best way to take off a recessed toilet paper holder?

I'm in the process of updating my bathroom and I've encountered a problem. I want to swap out my old recessed toilet paper holder, but I can't figure out how to remove it from the wall since there are no visible screws or anything to work with. Does anyone have tips or methods for getting this off without causing damage?

I totally get the struggle! If you’re comfortable, sending a picture could help us give you more specific advice. Sometimes, seeing the holder can reveal hidden clips or other mechanisms. If you can't, well, a good strong pull might just do the trick if it’s not glued in place.

Removing a recessed toilet paper holder can be tricky, especially without visible screws. One option is to gently pry it out with a flathead screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the wall while doing this! If it’s really stuck, you might consider using a sledgehammer, but that could create more work for patching the wall later. Try to see if there's a hidden mechanism behind it.

I agree with using a screwdriver first! Just be patient, and you might avoid more repairs later.
