What’s the Best Way to Thin Carrots?

I'm at a point with my carrot seedlings where they need thinning, and I've come across two main methods. One involves carefully pulling out the excess seedlings without disturbing the roots, while the other is to simply snip the green stems off at soil level. Which method do you recommend as the best? What do you find easier? 🙂

I usually prefer snipping off the stems. It’s a neat way to leave some organic matter in the soil, which will decompose and benefit the remaining plants. I’ve got these Fiskars Softgrip Stainless Steel Micro-Tip Snips that work great for this. I can't really get my fingernails in there since I keep them trimmed short, so the snips are perfect.

Another bonus is that it avoids the mess of pulling everything out. You might want to give it a try!

That sounds super easy! I've got some skinny scissors I can use too. Thanks for the tip!
