What’s the Best Way to Touch Up a Paint Chip on My Steel Bathtub?

I accidentally chipped a quarter-sized piece off my enamelled steel tub when I dropped a hammer on it. Thankfully, the tub itself isn't damaged – just a small chip that reveals the metal underneath. The rest of the tub looks great! I'm curious about the best type of paint to use for a quick fix. I've seen touch-up and tub tile kits, but what should I actually grab? Should I go for like a dozen bottles of touch-up paint, or is there a better option? By the way, my tub is a Cranada Left-Hand Enamelled Steel model from 1994.

Honestly, even fingernail polish could work in a pinch! It might not be the most durable fix, but if you're in a hurry, it could cover the chip temporarily until you get something more permanent.

Appliance touch-up paint kits should also work great for your situation. They're designed for repairs like this, and you should be able to find a good match for your tub’s color.

For your steel tub, I’d recommend using a two-part epoxy paint like PC-11 in white. It blends well and will hold up nicely! Just make sure to follow the instructions carefully and let it cure properly for the best results.

Just a heads up, you might still see the repair after touching it up. If it's not a big deal for you, check local appliance sales places for paint kits specifically made for this kind of repair. They'll usually have what you need!
