What’s the Best Way to Waterproof a Shower Without Using Tile?

I'm renovating my shower, which currently has just waterproof paint on the walls. I'm looking for a more reliable waterproofing solution but want to avoid tiling if possible. I've been considering shower wall panels or surrounds and am leaning towards an adhesive surround by Craft + Main Jetcoat. I've included a link to the product. Does anyone have recommendations for products or systems that work well? I'm interested in options like acrylic sheets or solid-surface panels that are durable, budget-friendly, and low-maintenance.

Tile isn't inherently waterproof, which is why a waterproofing system like Red Guard is necessary. The adhesive surround you mentioned is a good choice! Just ensure you use mold-resistant drywall behind it for extra protection.

You might want to check out products like Flexseal too! They're pretty popular for waterproofing needs.

There are plenty of shower surrounds and solid surface panel systems that don't require waterproofing of the walls. It really depends on your budget and your DIY skill level.
