What’s the Best Wood for Making a Large Outdoor Jenga Game?

I'm thinking about making a large outdoor Jenga game for my family, especially for my kids aged three and up. My wife suggested it, and I want to ensure it's durable since the pieces will be falling over and handled by little hands. I'm planning to sand and seal the wood to help with how smoothly they slide and to extend its lifespan. Can anyone recommend what type of wood would be best for this type of game?

For a big outdoor Jenga, framing lumber works great! It’s super affordable, and if any pieces take a beating, just swap them out—those dents give it character! You might be overthinking it a little bit.

Totally agree! I saved an old 2x4 from my home renovation that's perfect for a smaller Jenga. Once I get my tools set up after moving, I'm going to work on that. Just make sure you finish it well; I’m planning to keep mine nice and use it on grass.
