What’s the Best Wood for Making Mini Hammer Pendants?

I'm planning to carve a small hammer pendant that's about 5cm long and has an oblong shape. I want to know which wood would be the best choice to make it durable enough to withstand occasional bumps or falls without breaking easily. Any recommendations?

If you’re just starting out with carving, I’d recommend using basswood. It’s super easy to work with, which is great for beginners. Plus, it’s tough enough for your project, but just keep in mind that while basswood is softer, it can still hold up for small pieces like your pendant. So, it should be fine if you’re a little careful with it!

I appreciate the tip! I'm trying to plan ahead for when I get better at carving. Is basswood really prone to breaking since it's softer?
