What’s the Current Labor Rate for Framing and Drywall Installation in Ontario?

I'm looking for some insight into labor costs for a framing and drywall project. The area I need help with is about 1200 square feet. I'm planning to get all the materials myself but need to know the approximate labor rate per square foot for installing metal framing and drywall. For context, I'm based in Ontario. Any estimates would be super helpful!

Definitely consider getting bids from a few different contractors as rates can vary widely even within Ontario. For skilled trades, labor costs could range from $90 to $200 an hour. I’d estimate that your total labor costs might still hover around that $10,000 to $20,000 range, but it really depends on the details of your project!

It's a bit tricky to give a flat rate since prices can vary a lot depending on the specifics of your project. Just as a rough guess, for framing and drywall work, you might be looking at around $10,000 to $20,000 based on experiences from others, especially since labor costs can be higher in Ontario compared to places like Minnesota.

Thanks for that! Just to clarify, this work is mostly attaching metal framing to masonry and adding some new walls. Does that change things?
