Hey everyone! I'm wondering why DeWalt decided to stop making the 10" sliding miter saw. I really don't need the 12" version, and the 7" just isn't cutting it for me. For those of you who have looked into this, did you switch brands for your miter saw, or are you all going with the 12"? I've heard that a lot of people think DeWalt's miter saws are among the best, but I noticed the Bosch 10" sliding is still priced at $600! What gives?

Same here! Before I bought my 780 a while back, that was exactly what I was on the hunt for. I only really needed the bigger capacity once for a deck post, but it would have been nice to have!
I totally get where you're coming from! I wish they had a 7" double bevel compound slider. That would be killer! I think they have a 7 1/4" sliding miter, though.
If you're okay with corded options, Skil has a nice 10" sliding miter saw that features a shadow line, and it’s pretty affordable. I found it for around $279, while the DeWalt is currently on sale for $287, so they're quite comparable right now!
I went with the 12" and also picked up the cordless 7". It’s a fantastic combo for me! Totally serves my needs.
Are you looking specifically for corded or cordless options? That might help narrow it down for you!
I thought they released a new 10" slider recently, but it turns out it’s not actually a slider. It's a cordless 20V model instead. I didn't see one listed on their site either, which is a bummer because I almost made the plunge on one a couple of years back and now I'm regretting it a bit!
Honestly, I don’t recall DeWalt ever having a 10" sliding version, just their corded and cordless non-slider models. But I could be mistaken!
Yeah, I think they just had the DW717, but that’s not a slider.
Yeah, I know what you mean! I really wish I had bought that when I had the chance.
