Hey everyone! I've been using my Hitachi drill for a while now, and it's been amazing—I even built most of my house with it! I just found out that the brand is now called Metabo. Can anyone share insights or comparisons regarding this change? Is the quality still up to par?

So, Hitachi drills are now marketed under the Metabo name. The transition has raised some eyebrows since it seems like they’re not directly linked to the German-made Metabo, which is interesting. But from what I’ve heard, the quality is still strong! Just keep an eye on where your tools are manufactured because that can vary a bit.
I switched from a Hitachi nailer to a Metabo 15 gauge finish nailer, and I honestly think the quality is still just as good as it used to be. Their pneumatic tools hold up well, so if you liked Hitachi, I think you’ll be satisfied with Metabo!
Yeah, it's kind of strange about the name change in the US. In Australia, Hitachi became Hikoki, but in Europe, they've maintained both Hikoki and Metabo. If you're looking for high-end quality, the Metabo units made in Germany are where it's at. Just check the labels for 'made in' info to ensure you're getting the real deal.
