I'm about to try Square Foot Gardening for the first time and I'm working on creating my Mel's Mix. I've got the coarse vermiculite and peat moss sorted out, and I'm putting together the compost blend. Since I don't have my own compost, I'm purchasing the ingredients. So far, I have mushroom compost and worm castings, but now I'm curious about the differences between Black Kow manure and composted manure. Can anyone share their insights on this?

Honestly, I think Black Kow is overrated. You might want to look up some reviews first. I’ve seen a lot of complaints about the quality, with customers finding it full of sticks and other junk. If you can, steer clear of it!
I’ve used Black Kow before and found it to work fine. It’s basically composted manure, so it should do the trick for your mix. Just be careful of the brand you choose, as there can be inconsistencies. Don't let bad reviews scare you away from trying it if you're in a pinch!
