I'm curious about the differences between the DCF913 and DCF923 impact wrenches. They both have a 3/8 inch size and are similarly priced, with the DCF913 at $199.99 and the DCF923 at $219.99. However, I've heard that the DCF923 is more powerful, smaller, and has four modes. So, why do people still buy the DCF913?

Some users might go for the cheaper DCF913 because their needs are basic, while others need the added power and features of the DCF923. It really comes down to individual preferences.

Totally get that, but the price difference isn't huge in stores. It's a small uptick for better features!

The reason there are two models is mainly for sales purposes. While they share a lot of similarities, each tool serves slightly different customer needs.

You're right—they're not identical, but the basic users might find the DCF913 plenty good. If you're looking for more precision in your work, having extra power modes is a big bonus. Be sure to compare specs and features to choose what's best for you!

The DCF923 is part of the Atomic line, which is exclusive to Home Depot for big box stores. Retailers like Lowe's carry the DCF913, which is also cheaper by about $20. It might not be a lot, but it's a good option for those who don't need all the bells and whistles.

Interesting! I snagged the DCF923 at Ace Hardware after returning the 913. The four modes really make it worth the extra cash.
