I'm new to gardening and looking for plants that are easy to care for and will enhance my space. Any recommendations for either indoor or outdoor plants that won't easily die and can offer some aesthetic appeal?

If you're looking for outdoor flowers, I highly recommend cosmos! They grow tall and bushy and are super drought-resistant—plus, pollinators really love them. After a good watering, I've even spotted toads hanging out under their canopy! They come in vibrant colors, especially the bold whites. You really can't go wrong with them.
If you're in need of some full-sun options, petunias, geraniums, and zinnias thrive on a little neglect and come in beautiful colors. In shadier spots, you might want to try coleus or impatiens. They all bloom beautifully in the summer and fall!
For patio plants, castor beans are a stunner with their colorful leaves and impressive seed heads. If you're after something that’s hard to kill, marigolds are a solid choice—try the Fireball or Strawberry Blonde varieties. They’re both annuals, so just keep in mind they’ll only last through the growing season.
When it comes to easy indoor plants, pothos and tradescantia zebrina are great options. They might be a bit common, but they are stunning as hanging or crawling plants. If you want something unique, consider hoya carnosa too!
