What’s the Ideal Humidity for My Home?

I just moved into a new house and have been using a couple of dehumidifiers in the basement to lower the humidity, which is now in the 40s. However, the humidity on the main level is around 60%. Considering it's been pretty hot and humid lately, should I be running a dehumidifier upstairs as well?

You might want to check the temperature upstairs. If you have your A/C running on a low fan setting, that might help manage the humidity. Also, keep in mind that if your A/C is oversized, it may not be efficiently dehumidifying the air. You could find that the humid level balances out naturally when the temp's kept around 71 like you mentioned.

The temperature upstairs and in the main area is stable at 71, so maybe that's contributing to the humidity being a bit higher overall.
