Don't stress too much! The shift to 20V was more about improving battery chemistry from NiCd/NiMH to Li-ion rather than actual voltage changes. Newer formats like 18650s and 21700s are becoming standard thanks to not just power tools but also electric vehicles. Unless a groundbreaking battery chemistry emerges, this setup is here to stay.
