What’s the metal part of a sliding TV stand door called?

I'm trying to identify the name of a specific metal piece on my sliding TV stand door. It's not spring-loaded, but you can adjust how far it extends. This piece fits into the groove of the door frame to keep the door secure. My goal is to replace it with a longer version since the wood has expanded over time. Any help would be appreciated!

It sounds like you're talking about a center brace. That’s often what holds the sliding doors in place. If you need to replace it, just take some measurements to find a longer one that fits your setup!

Could you share a picture? It might be easier to identify the piece with a visual!

Definitely check if it’s the center brace, but if it’s not, I’d be happy to help further once you have a pic.

Just to clarify, are you sure it’s not a thermostat? Some sliding door mechanisms have unique names based on their function, but the center brace seems to be the most accurate based on your description.
