What’s the Most Annoying Home Issue You’d Fix Quick and Cheap?

Asked By WanderingPenguin54 On

I'm managing furnished rentals and I'm looking for ideas on renter-friendly fixes for everyday home problems. My budget is under $50 and I'm aiming for solutions that take 15 minutes or less to implement, preferably without any drilling. I'd love to hear your top annoyances at home, like light leaks around curtains, too few towel hooks, cable clutter, noisy echoes, balcony privacy issues, scuffed walls, weak shower storage, door slamming, or shoe chaos. Please include:

1. The issue you're facing
2. Your budget
3. If no-drilling options are okay
4. Any color or material preferences

Once I've collected the feedback, I'll put together some mock solutions to share with everyone!

One quick fix I love is using $15 stick-on soft close pads from Amazon for door slams. You just stick them on, and they keep the noise down without the need for drilling. It only takes a couple of minutes to install!

That sounds super helpful! I’ve got a few doors that drive me nuts with the slamming.

Yeah! I’d say replace any loose power outlets in the home. It’s a minor issue but makes a big difference for safety and looks. You can grab a new outlet cover for under $5!

I really dislike the lack of hooks for towels in the bathroom. It's a small fix, but when there aren’t enough hooks, the whole space gets messy. It drives me crazy! Just adding a couple of adhesive hooks can make a world of difference!

Totally agree! A few hooks can really save you from towel chaos.
