I'm dealing with a leaking valve and I think it might be easier to just swap out the valve insert instead of cutting and soldering everything. Can anyone tell me the exact name of this valve so I can find a replacement? I've included some photos for reference.

I’d agree it’s probably a gate valve as well, especially if it’s the main supply coming into your house. Just make sure you find one that matches the screw pattern when you're shopping around for a replacement!
Looks like you’ve got a 1/2” gate valve on your hands. Those are pretty common! Since it’s for your water supply, I’d say sticking with the gate valve for the replacement is the way to go.
I had a similar issue and ended up calling a plumber. They had to shut off the water at the street, cut out some old piping, and replace it all, which was a bit of a hassle. If you're comfortable doing the replacements yourself, that's great! Just keep in mind you might still need to turn off the water from the main.
