I'm trying to figure out which miter saw to go for between the DCS785B and the DCS781. Can anyone break down the main differences? Any insights would really help!

The big difference here is that the DCS781 is a 60V tool, while the DCS785 is a 20V model. If you want something powerful, I'd definitely go with the 781—it's got a lot more cutting power. Personally, I've used the table saw version, and it handled ripping a full-length pressure-treated 2x10 like it was nothing!
I've got the 60V model, and it's an absolute beast! Just a heads up, though—no laser guide. The LED light it has just casts a shadow, which isn't ideal if you're working outdoors. But if you're okay with the 8 1/4-inch blades, the companion table saw is also quite impressive for smaller cuts.

That's good to know! I usually work outside, so I totally get the need for a better light system.
