I've heard that larger drill bits should be used at slower speeds, but I'm curious if that applies to hole saw bits too, since they cut through less material at a time. Can anyone suggest the best RPM for using a 3" hole saw bit? Thanks for your help!

Absolutely, slower speeds are generally better for larger hole saws. The bigger the diameter, the slower you should go. Just make sure you have a way for the sawdust to escape while you're cutting. If the sawdust gets packed in, it can cause all sorts of problems, like burning. A neat trick is to drill a small pilot hole first. Start by cutting about a millimeter deep to create an outline, then you can drill a few small holes that connect to that circle. This helps the sawdust get pushed out and makes the whole process smoother. Trust me, it’s worth the extra effort!

Awesome tip! I’ll definitely give that a shot, thanks!
