I really want my home to give off a wonderful smell that makes guests say "Wow, it smells amazing in here!" Even though I keep everything clean—taking out the trash, cleaning the bins, and using diffusers in the hallway and living room—I feel like I'm missing that lasting scent of freshness and comfort. Any tips on using diffusers, finding long-lasting scented items, or anything else I can do to enhance the smell around my house?

If you're looking for a real solution, consider installing an Energy Recovery Ventilator or a Heat Recovery Ventilator system. It circulates fresh air and gets rid of stale air, making your home smell fresh all the time. We have a whole-home system, and when we came back from a trip, it felt like walking into a brand-new home without any fake scents!
A neat trick is to put a couple of drops of vanilla extract on a hot range burner. It will make your place smell like fresh-baked cookies—great for a homey feel!
Have you been using the same scents throughout? You might not notice your diffusers as much since you're used to them. Also, are they running all day? Try checking for outside smells coming in through open windows or other competing scents like cooking. It's worth thinking about how your place smells in the morning versus the evening too, especially when the diffusers are running.
I actually use the same scent for both diffusers since they're reed ones, so maybe that's why I'm not noticing it as much. I do keep my windows open during the day for airflow.
Honestly, fresh-baked cookies and clean bathrooms do wonders for me! If you make your place smell like that, your guests are sure to be impressed.
I always light a scented candle in the main room all day when I'm home. Before guests arrive, I light another candle in the bathroom and spray a fabric spray or even a body spray on all the fabrics in the living area. It creates a lovely scent that lingers. Maybe this could be a good strategy for you too!

That sounds awesome! I’ll definitely try it out, thanks! ?
