What’s the Wait Time for Beeswax Over Oil Finishes?

I'm working on a couple of projects, one with a walnut oil finish and another with boiled linseed oil (BLO). I'm curious about how long I should wait before putting a layer of beeswax on top. I've heard that walnut oil dries quicker than BLO, but I'm not sure if it cures that much faster too. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It’s usually recommended to wait about 72 hours after applying the oil before putting beeswax on top. This should give the oil enough time to dry, but keep in mind that the exact timing can vary.

I came across a source that says it could actually take between 3 to 6 months for the finish to cure properly before thinking about beeswax. That sounds pretty long, but maybe it’s worth checking out if your project allows!

For linseed oil finishes, I suggest trying a product that combines oil and wax, like Tried and True. It can simplify the process since you’re getting both in one go!
