What’s This Drywall Texture and How Can I Copy It?

I came across this drywall texture and it looks like a really fine orange peel. Check out the image I posted: https://imgur.com/a/4FaEV6n. I'm wondering if it's feasible to replicate this texture for a small patch job using just all-purpose mud. Any tips?

It looks to me like the texture you see is actually just from a roller brush used over the years. To get a similar effect, you’d need to apply several coats of paint with a higher nap roller. Just using a spray can won’t give you that look, unfortunately.

I recognize that texture! It resembles orange peel, and while you can get textured sprays from most home improvement stores, I wouldn’t rely on those alone for this specific look. Instead, you might want to experiment with distance and pattern when applying paint through a roller.

Just a heads up, though! I think it’s important to mention that this texture likely comes from how the wall was painted over time. You won’t find a texture product that exactly matches that look.
