Hey everyone! I'm currently working on my sinking floors and had my son check out what's happening beneath the house. He took a picture, and there's some sort of electronic device down there with wires connected to it. I'm not sure what it is and could really use your insight. Any ideas on what this might be?

Another possibility is that it might be a thermostat transformer. Those also fit the description and have similar wiring. It's worth checking into, especially if you recently did any heating upgrades.
That looks like it could be a doorbell transformer! They usually have a couple of wires coming out. If your house has been renovated, there might be bits and pieces left from previous installations.
Yeah, that was my thought too! We have a bunch of leftover stuff under our house from past renos, so it's likely. This could be a good time to clean it all up.
