Hey everyone! I'm curious about your watering preferences for plants. Do you prefer bottom watering, where you soak the plant from below, or top watering by pouring water directly on the soil? I've experimented with both methods, but I noticed that when I bottom water, my plants often don't soak up as much water as I expect. They end up feeling dry despite my efforts. What works for you?

I usually bottom water when I have the time. I like to sit my plants in a container filled with water up to halfway of the pot. Sometimes, I'll leave them there all day until the top of the soil feels moist.
I've found that I do a mix of both based on the soil type. Chunkier soil doesn’t absorb water as well, so I avoid bottom watering there.
Bottom watering is great, but it takes forever with larger plants! For me, if I've got time, I’ll do it, but more often, I stick to top watering. At the end of the day, as long as the plants are getting enough water, either method is fine.
It really depends on the type of plant you have! I bottom water for some of my needy ones, but overall, I tend to stick to top watering for most of my collection.
I'm definitely a fan of bottom watering! I care for around 40 plants across different sizes and types. I usually fill the decorative pots with water and let them soak overnight. Just watch for any excess water to adjust my method later. I only top water when using strong fertilizers like fish or seaweed. For propagations and my moss pole pothos, I skip the bottom watering.
