I'm really curious about how everyone got started with their plant collections! How many plants did you initially have, and how much has your collection grown since then? I'd love to hear about your experiences and the timeline of your journey with plants!

I started with just three plants about four years ago. I didn’t rush into it; I made sure I knew how to care for each one before getting another. Slow and steady wins the race, right? Now I've got around 50 houseplants! It’s been a fun journey.
I got super into plants back in 2020 when there was a great local nursery nearby, plus some box stores with a lot of variety. I spent loads of time learning about plant care, and since I had a room full of natural light, my collection just took off! But after moving to a drier state, things got trickier, and my enthusiasm has kind of dipped. Here’s a pic of my earlier setup!
Still looks fantastic, thanks for sharing! ?

This is the absolute best advice for anyone just starting! Don’t rush into buying a bunch. Snap a pic of the plant you like, research its care, and take it one step at a time. You’ll have way more success and much less stress!
