I'm curious about how you all manage your planting schedules year-round in hot climates. I'm in zone 10a and planning for heat-resistant crops like okra, luffa, peppers, and melons from April to September. For the cooler months, I'm thinking of planting collards, onions, carrots, and broccoli from October to March. I can also grow tomatoes in containers to avoid the heat and cold extremes, probably between January and May. However, I'm finding that if I want to grow other warm-weather crops that aren't as heat tolerant, I need to choose specific varieties or I won't bother because our weather rarely stays consistent in the 70-80 range. I've considered a three-way crop rotation but I'm not sure if it's worth it. How do guys in similar climates handle this?

I’m not quite there with year-round gardening yet, but I also try to plant what’s in season. I usually follow the IFAS guidelines, but I adapt based on the weather variations and my yard's microclimate. It’s all about being flexible! Also, here’s a great resource I’ve found: https://floridafresh.ifas.ufl.edu

Awesome link! I get really confused with the planting dates specified on seed packets since they don’t seem to apply here in Florida either, haha!
