I was looking to buy some hostas today, but I couldn't find them at either of the garden centers I visited. Am I just too early in the season to expect them?

Keep in mind that not all garden centers carry hostas, especially this time of year. They tend to look like just pots of soil until they start sprouting. Try finding one with a solid selection of perennials.
It's often better to order from a specialist supplier since they have a wider variety of hostas and you can support small businesses at the same time.
I just spotted a bunch of hostas at a garden center recently! If you're near Aylesbury, check out Chiltern View. They were well-stocked there.
I don’t really know where Aylesbury is, but it sounds like it might be far away for me! It's good to hear they are available somewhere, though.
