I started my seeds a bit too early, and now my house feels like a greenhouse with four grow bags of tomatoes, one of sweet potatoes, and other bags for green beans, cucumbers, and both romaine and iceberg lettuce. I'm eager to know when it's safe to move them outdoors. Is it best to wait until nighttime temperatures are consistently above 40°F or should I aim for above 50°F?

Check your zip code with this planting calendar. It’s super handy! I think your lettuce can actually handle going out now, but you’re probably too early for the tomatoes and other warmer crops.
You should generally wait until after Mother's Day to move your plants outside. That's a common guideline for many regions to avoid cold snaps. Just to be safe, check your local frost dates too!
I was really hoping it was safe once it hits the forties at night. Guess I need to be patient!
Just keep in mind the average frost date for your area—April 15 is pretty common. Don’t rush the others out too soon to avoid any cold damage.

Awesome! I can put the lettuce out now? That’s a relief since I have six bags of it!
