When Do Orchids Stop Blooming and Can I Transplant Them During Bloom?

Hey everyone! I'm new to being an orchid parent. I've mainly dealt with succulents up until now but wanted to add an orchid to my collection. I have a question about their blooming cycle. When can I expect my orchid to stop blooming? I'm also considering transplanting it to a bigger pot, but I'm hesitant to do that while it's still in bloom. Is it safe to transplant an orchid when it's blooming, or should I wait until the flowers have fallen off?

I’ve had my orchid for about 7 years and it just keeps flowering! Generally, they bloom for a few months and then go into a rest phase. You’ll know when they’re done blooming because the flowers will start to wilt. As for transplanting, you should really wait until the flowers are gone. It’s less stressful for the plant that way, and it can focus on growing new roots instead of worrying about the blooms.

I thought the same! I was worried I’d stress mine out by transplanting it while it was in bloom, so I waited. It really did help with new growth afterward!
