When is the best time to cut my grass for the first time this season?

I'm eager to start mowing my lawn while the weather is nice this week, but I realized that I was late getting my mower serviced, so I'm a bit behind. Next week, it's going to get pretty chilly at night, possibly dropping to 1°C, and during the day the highs will be around 9°C. Do you think it's okay to go ahead with the first cut now, or should I wait for the weather to warm up a bit?

I think you’ll be fine to give it a light cut. Just be sure to avoid sections that might still have frost. A light trim is unlikely to cause any harm, even if it does get a bit chilly later on!

Yeah, just keep the blades high for now and you'll be good!

Honestly, just mow it when it gets too tall for your taste. A lot of people are all about mowing early, but in my opinion, there's no rush. Just do what feels right for your lawn!

If the ground is dry enough, go for it! A little trim won’t hurt, especially if it’s just the tops you're cutting off. Just make sure you’re not hacking too much off at once.

Thanks! That's exactly my plan, just a light touch!
