When Should I Start Gardening for My New Baby?

Hey everyone! I'm a soon-to-be parent with a baby due in April, and I want to make my garden ready by then. My lawn is in pretty bad shape and needs some care. Is it a good idea to aerate, scarify, and seed the lawn now, or should I wait? Also, when is the best time to prune my roses? Is doing it in March too early? I'd really appreciate any advice! Thanks!

Congrats on your baby! I just had my first one too, and I spent a lot of time prepping the garden before they arrived. This year, I started sowing seeds indoors, which is something you can do with your little one around. It’s a great way to grow plants while keeping an eye on the baby!

I’d say March is a bit late for pruning roses. You should ideally do it in February! As for the lawn, I think you should wait until March to start working on it.

But it’s still February! You can definitely get started now!
