I'm currently gardening in zone 6a and usually start my lettuce and cabbage in early March, while I wait until the last week of March or early April for tomatoes and peppers. I'm curious when others would recommend starting seeds in this zone, particularly about the ideal timing and any tips you might have.

Planting potatoes is always a fun idea! I've been growing them for the past two years, and they make for some delicious homemade French fries just in time for the July 4th BBQ. Definitely recommend giving that a shot!
If you’re already starting seeds at those times, I’m curious why you’re asking! I’m in zone 6B and wait until April 5 for peppers and April 17 for tomatoes—I'm not a fan of lettuce either. Just make sure to trust your instincts on frost dates!
It's super important to know your area's last frost date! Normally, the seed packets have great guidance for when and how to start your seeds. Just make sure to check that out because it can really help you nail the timing!

I get what you mean! Last year, both my peppers and tomatoes got super root-bound because the ground wasn't ready yet, so I ended up planting late. I'm just trying to figure things out better since the recommended dates have changed; it used to be closer to June 1 before the guideline update.
