When Will Garden Supplies Go on Sale at Big Stores?

I'm curious if anyone has insights on when major stores like Home Depot or Walmart usually start slashing prices on gardening products. I'm talking about everything from plants and soil to fertilizers and tools like wheelbarrows and shovels. I thought they'd begin clearing out their stock around Labor Day weekend, but I haven't seen any sales yet. Can anyone share their experiences or knowledge?

I checked Home Depot recently, and I didn't see any discounts yet. They had some fall items like mums and pumpkins out, but no markdowns on garden supplies. I've heard that smaller local garden centers often do clearances, so it might be worth checking those out!

It's hit or miss with the big stores for discounts. The Walmart near me tends to mark down a lot of items, but it doesn't always happen consistently. I feel you on wanting to get a wheelbarrow on sale; I was hoping for the same!

Yeah, I’m dealing with borrowing one too, so I really want to find a good deal!
