I'm living in England, and the weather has really turned around lately. I'm curious if it's still too early to plant shallots and onions. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!

The sets can handle a bit of light frost, or you could cover them with some fleece. Seeds might be cutting it close, but they should still catch up if planted soon. After Christmas is typically the best time to start!
I just planted my shallots and onions in a polytunnel. Keep in mind, England's quite diverse. In Truro, you’re all set, but if you’re in Carlisle, I'd suggest waiting another month. Fun fact: Spring moves across the country at about 2 miles an hour!
I live near the sea in the northeast; should I plant them straight in the ground or use grow bags?
You should be good planting onion seeds and sets now, and the same goes for shallots. Just keep an eye on the frost!
It's probably still a bit early, but I just went ahead and planted my onion sets and some soft neck garlic a couple of days ago. Feels like it's worth a shot! ?
And remember, England is just one big island!
