Where can I buy just a few seeds of various vegetables and herbs?

I'm looking for a way to buy just a couple of seeds from a variety of vegetables and herbs. I have a small garden and built some raised beds about 15 years ago, but after mismanaging my previous seed storage, I ended up tossing out a lot of them. Each year, I spend quite a bit on starter plants for different veggies and herbs I enjoy. I was hoping there was a way to order just a few seeds online, but I understand there might be challenges with logistics and costs. Is there an option for someone like me who wants a few seeds from many types?

Honestly, your best bet might just be to buy new seed packs and store them better this time. It's tough to find places that sell just a couple of seeds since most people want more for their gardens. Seed packs usually run about $3, and if you store what's left properly, you can use them for a few years. This saves you money on starters in the long run, and you can invest that savings into things that will boost your garden's success!

I've never seen stores that sell only a couple of seeds online. But you might have luck with community swaps! You can check out forums like r/seedswap or visit freeheirloomseeds.org for smaller amounts of seeds. I’ve even sent out seeds without trading before, so it's worth looking into those options!

Consider looking into local seed exchanges in your town. I’ve heard that some community centers or libraries host them every year. If not, just buy some good seed packs and try freezing the surplus for future planting! That way, you have things ready for next year.

You likely won’t find sellers offering just two seeds of anything because most people want to plant several. It doesn’t make financial sense for sellers due to packaging costs. However, maybe a local seed swap could work for you! Get some packets, and you can trade or ask for specific seeds from fellow gardeners. Plus, there's a fun community vibe in doing that!
